The CAMAN course was developed in 2005 by five nurses from Nova Scotia, Canada . All had extensive experience in emergency, ICU, teaching and two were current flight nurses who required airway management skills & knowledge in that role. All five nurses recognized that despite an obvious need, there were no airway management courses available geared specifically  to nurses.

In 2004, using the renowned AIME course as a base, the five set out to develop a course suited to nurses in all roles. They completed development of CAMAN  and rolled out late in 2005. The course runs over one eight hour day. In 2008 the course became officially affiliated with the AIME course.

Fee Structure: The cost varies depending on location and if instructors must be brought in. Fees include the AIME affiliation fee and textbook, instruction time, course manual, certificate for 6.5 hrs CEU hours , and hands on time with equipment.

As well as our base of instructors in Nova Scotia, we are working to establish  CAMAN Instructors in BC and hope to expand to the remaining provinces in the next one to two years.
